Moodle is the topic in focus today. I am pretty sure anyone who’s in the Learning and Development industry and has a remote inclination towards technology must have heard about this; at least the name! So how is it helpful to educational institutes in organizing classes?
To answer that question, we first need to understand Moodle. In layman’s terms, it is an open-source learning management platform. So what’s so special about it being an open-source forum? It is a free to use source of learning! Now we get to its list of benefits.
Anyone can use this platform at any point of time to create single or recurring multiple classes and courses online. The Moodle propagates a seamless management of class or training related process like creating varied online course assignments, edit texts, conducting a poll, interacting with the students via chats, and tracking the progress of individual classes. Most importantly, students can check out course catalogs and complete all the enrollment formalities on one single interface. Other student benefits include downloading assignments, participating in polls, checking grades, chatting with the fellow classmates, and the faculty.
While writing about Moodle, the popular Learning Management System (LMS), the thought that repeatedly came to my mind was how technology has simplified the process of conducting classes; no school building, no “brick and mortar” classrooms, no hostel for students, and no library. The classes that do exist have only a virtual entity (on the Cloud!); you cannot see them, but can only feel their presence.
Ah, for all Moodle users, here’s a piece of good news (for those who already know about it, please ignore). Acteva has designed and developed the Moodle Connector to let you manage online class registration and online payment management at a reduced cost and without having to leave the familiar Moodle platform. Moreover, Acteva Connector for Moodle LMS helps in automatic and safe data transfer from the online Moodle database to your computer’s local drive in seconds thereby eliminating the need to re-enter or copy the existing data.
Sounds great? Try out the Moodle Connector today and don’t forget to share your experience with us.
Take care and happy blogging!
